COUNTRY GUEST HOUSE
Dartmoor National Park
Moorcote Country Guest House is an Edwardian residence thought to have been built in 1906. It stands in an elevated position and as such has fantastic views over Moretonhampstead, the surrounding countryside and out to Dartmoor. The house is set within beautiful mature gardens and because it's set well back from the road there is a sense of peace and tranquility.
We have had to make the very difficult decision to increase prices from 1st October 2022. This is due to the huge increases in energy and food costs. We have tried to absorb these continuing increases for as long as possible but unfortunately are no longer able to do so.
Due to enhanced cleaning requirements as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are now only accepting stays with a minimum of 2 nights or more.
Please note that rooms will not be serviced during your stay to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19. However towels and consumable items in rooms will be replenished as required.

Moorcote has plenty of free private parking for our guests. Leave your car and take the short walk (5-10 mins) into town.
In the centre of Moretonhampstead we have a wide range of shops and places to eat.
Shops range from the Information Centre, to the Post Office, Pharmacy, Hairdressers, Newsagents, Butchers & Deli, Green Grocers and Co-op.
For drinks, light bites and lunch time meals, Moretonhampstead boasts The Cross Street Cafe, Gateway Tea Rooms and Central Cafe.
For evening meals, there is a good choice ranging from The Union Public House, The Horse Public House, Berto’s Pizzeria and The White Hart Hotel. They each serve delicious food at reasonable prices.
We are proud to mention that Moorcote Country Guest House (which is registered with Teignbridge District Council as a food business establishment) has been inspected and awarded the following Food Hygiene Rating.
